1.) Never take someone to dinner as a first date. (There’s room for odd silences that you won’t know how to fill)2.) Never let them go a day without knowing you love them. (Doesn’t have to be ‘I love you’)
3.) Always ask about family, how they’re doing. Memorize their names, even the pets. And understand that you will never be as loved as their pets.
4.) Don’t be blind, they are not the only thing in your life you should worry about, don’t stop hanging out with your friends to spend time with them. Understand that they are not your whole world.
5.) Be idiots together, stop trying to make yourself seem better than you are, if they don’t like you when you make stupid faces then you should go.
6.) Learn the little things, trust me, they’ll notice that you remembered.
7.) Stop bringing yourself down, you’re talking shit on someone that your partner loves.
8.) Never leave each other’s side angry, you can go to bed angry, but don’t leave each other angry.
9.) If the person you’re dating isn’t your best friend, leave.
10.) If they change something that has to deal with their physical appearance, acknowledge it, stop being so oblivious, it makes you seem like an ass who doesn’t care.
11.) Don’t take hand holding and kisses on the cheek for granted, it’s the little things that will make you fall in love more and appreciate the time you have with them.
12.) Lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice. (Don’t argue over the same thing over and over again)
13.) It doesn’t hurt to change up the pace every once in awhile.
14.) Love isn’t always going to be butterflies and heart eyes, it’s mostly warmth and comfort.
15.) Love should not be a flame that consumes you, you will burn out, stop giving all of yourself if they’re not even willing to give you half.
16.) You are made up of roots, a trunk, and branches. You are a tree in itself. The people around you are leaves. They either stay around or fall to the ground. You cannot stick a leaf back onto where it doesn’t want to go. With or without leaves, you are a tree. You are not less of a tree if you only have a few leaves or even none. But remember, trees can’t force themselves not to grow leaves, it just happens.
